HARROGATE
Annual 5-a-side Disability Football Tournament
in conjunction with
Yorkshire & Humberside Special Olympics

Our annual disability football tournament takes place every July at the magnificent Killinghall Moor Community Park on the edge of Harrogate.

Although this event is open to all disability football teams, this is a Special Olympics regional event. It is run Harrogate Gateway FC, in partnership with Killinghall Nomads JFC and is also sanctioned by the West Riding County FA.

The event has grown over the years and now attracts over 80 entries. It caters for all levels of ability (Lower ability level through to elite). Although the tournament is mainly for adult teams, there is a seperate section for Junior teams.

Each team plays a couple of grading games to and the tournament propper is played in a round robin style with each of the banded groups competing for their own medals and silverware. Fair play Trophies are also awarded by the referees.

The aim is to group teams of a similar ability to enable all players/teams to participate at a level that suits them.

VOLUNTEERS
This is a huge event and it takes a small army of volunteers to put on each year. From pitch marking on the Friday, putting up goals on the saturday to running the event on the day. Without all the help, this fantastic event just would not happen.

We are always looking for volunteers to help, so if you want to get involved please drop an email to; marksummers@btinternet.com
